Project Overview
FWS Group developed the Inland Grain Terminal with a focus on enhancing grain storage, handling, and processing capabilities. This facility is designed to manage large volumes of grain efficiently and support high-throughput operations.
The scope of work for the Inland Grain Terminal project included the following key features:
- Concrete and Steel Storage Bins: The terminal features six concrete silos with inner stice bins and six steel bins, providing a total storage capacity of 2.68 million bushels. This diverse bin configuration supports extensive grain storage needs, ensuring ample space and flexibility for various types of grain.
- Receiving Capacity: The facility is equipped with tandem receiving driveways capable of receiving grain at a rate of 40,000 bushels per hour. This high receiving capacity facilitates the efficient intake of grain from various sources, streamlining the overall receiving process.
- Rail Car Shipping: The terminal includes rail car shipping systems with a capacity of 80,000 bushels per hour, utilizing twin 250 HP Nordstrong legs. This high-capacity shipping setup enables rapid loading of grain onto railcars, enhancing distribution efficiency and reducing turnaround times.
- Grain Cleaning Line: Inside the concrete workhouse, a grain cleaning line is installed with a capacity to clean 10,000 bushels per hour. This system ensures that incoming grain is properly cleaned before storage or shipment, maintaining high quality and minimizing impurities.
The Inland Grain Terminal project highlights FWS Group’s expertise in creating large-scale grain handling facilities that optimize storage, processing, and distribution. The terminal’s advanced features and high capacities support efficient grain management and contribute to overall operational effectiveness.
