Project Overview

FWS Group was responsible for the design and construction of a comprehensive Canola Processing Plant, engineered to handle large-scale canola processing operations with advanced infrastructure and facilities.

The scope of work for the Canola Processing Plant project included the following key features:

  • Daily Processing Capacity: The plant is designed with a capacity to crush 2,400 metric tonnes of canola per day. This high throughput supports large-scale processing needs and enhances operational efficiency.
  • Refined Oil Production: The facility includes the capability to produce 1,000 metric tonnes of fully refined food-grade oil per day. This ensures a high volume of high-quality oil output, meeting commercial and industrial demands.
  • Slipform Concrete Meal Storage: The plant features slipform concrete meal storage designed to handle and store processed canola meal. This durable storage solution ensures effective management of meal byproducts and maintains operational efficiency.
  • Structural Steel Buildings: The facility includes three key structural steel buildings:
    • Seed Preparation Building: Dedicated to the preparation of canola seeds before processing.
    • Extraction Building: Where the oil extraction process takes place.
    • Refinery Building: For the refining of extracted oil into food-grade quality.
  • Pre-Engineered Utility Building: A pre-engineered utility building supports the facility’s operational needs, including housing essential systems and equipment.
  • Administration Office: An administration office is included for the management and operational oversight of the plant, providing administrative support and coordination.
  • Waste Water Lagoon: The facility incorporates a waste water lagoon for the treatment and management of process water. This component ensures environmental compliance and efficient waste management.

The Canola Processing Plant project underscores FWS Group’s expertise in developing advanced processing facilities. The plant’s design and infrastructure ensure high capacity, efficient processing, and effective management of byproducts and waste, supporting large-scale canola processing operations with a focus on quality and sustainability.
