Project Overview

FWS Group was tasked with developing a comprehensive Fertilizer Storage & Distribution Facility for a new greenfield site, designed to handle bulk granular fertilizer and support efficient distribution and blending operations. This project was essential for streamlining the handling and distribution of fertilizers, ensuring a robust infrastructure to meet agricultural needs.

The scope of work for this facility included several key components:

  • Bulk Granular Fertilizer Storage: The facility was designed to store 13,405 metric tonnes (MT) of bulk granular fertilizer. This extensive storage capacity supports large-scale operations, providing ample space for the bulk storage of various fertilizer types.
  • Distribution and Blending Facility: The project included the development of a distribution and blending facility to manage and prepare fertilizers for distribution. This component was crucial for ensuring the accurate mixing and efficient distribution of fertilizers to meet agricultural demands.
  • Chemical Storage Warehouse: A dedicated chemical storage warehouse, measuring 50 feet by 120 feet, was constructed to house chemical products safely and effectively. This warehouse is equipped to handle various chemicals used in the fertilizer processing and distribution process.
  • Rail Receiving and Loadout System: The facility includes a rail receiving and loadout system designed to accommodate up to 110 railcars. This system facilitates the efficient receipt and dispatch of bulk fertilizers, improving logistics and reducing transit times.

This Fertilizer Storage & Distribution Facility was designed to optimize storage, blending, and distribution processes while ensuring operational efficiency and safety. The integration of these components provides a robust infrastructure to support the fertilizer industry’s needs, enhancing overall operational capabilities and service delivery.
