FWS’ Commitment To Indigenous Inclusion And Reconciliation

FWS believes in the power of reconciliation and the importance of building strong and meaningful relationships with the Indigenous Peoples of Canada. With a commitment to trust, transparency and mutual respect, we are dedicated to incorporating Indigenous participation in all aspects of our business operations. In line with this vision, we have established an Indigenous Relations Program and implemented an Indigenous Relations Policy to ensure a consistent and respectful approach when engaging with Indigenous communities.

Objectives

To achieve our vision, we have set forth the following primary objectives for our Indigenous Relations Program. These objectives align with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada: Calls to Action and are as follows:

Understanding and Honoring Indigenous Peoples

We recognize the importance of understanding the history, customs, beliefs and traditions of Indigenous Peoples. By charting a path toward reconciliation, we aim to foster a greater understanding within our organization and promote meaningful dialogue and cultural exchange.

Increasing Indigenous Participation

Acting with integrity, we seek to actively involve Indigenous Peoples in our business endeavors through various means, including employment and training opportunities, business engagement, profit sharing and social investments. By sharing our success with local Indigenous communities, businesses and individuals, we aim to contribute to their growth and prosperity.

Promoting An Inclusive Corporate Culture

We understand the significance of an inclusive corporate culture and recognize that a diverse workforce enriches our organization. To support this, we are developing and implementing corporate policies and practices that ensure our workforce is representative of the Indigenous population of Canada. We strive to create an environment where all employees feel valued, respected and included.

Engagement and Collaboration

We value collaboration and consultation with Indigenous partners and employees. We actively seek and implement advice from First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. Our commitment to transparent communication ensures that we engage with all partners and stakeholders in an inclusive manner. Additionally, we respect our partners’ internal governance structures and timelines, ensuring culturally-safe engagement throughout our interactions.

FWS is dedicated to Indigenous inclusion and reconciliation. By deepening our understanding, increasing Indigenous participation and promoting an inclusive corporate culture, we are taking active steps to contribute to the well-being and success of Indigenous communities and advance the interests of Indigenous Peoples.

We warmly invite Indigenous individuals to join the FWS team and be a part of our mission toward Indigenous inclusion and reconciliation. We trust that through collaboration and shared goals, we can create a future of reconciliation and prosperity for all. If you are passionate about making a difference and want to contribute to our collective journey, we encourage you to explore the opportunities available and join us in shaping a better tomorrow.
