FWS Group designed and constructed the Potash Bulk Storage & Distribution Facility, a large-scale infrastructure project aimed at improving the storage and distribution of potash. The facility is built to handle high volumes of potash, ensuring efficiency in storage and distribution processes while maintaining an emphasis on safety and operational excellence.

The primary goals for the Potash Bulk Storage & Distribution Facility were to:

• Develop a robust facility capable of efficiently storing and distributing large quantities of potash.
• Create flexible storage solutions that can accommodate both industrial-grade and fertilizer-grade potash.
• Prioritize safety and operational excellence throughout the project’s execution.

The facility incorporates several key features to ensure efficiency and flexibility:

• Arch Rib Truss Storage Buildings: The facility includes Arch Rib Truss storage buildings with a total capacity of 140,000 metric tonnes, ensuring reliable and spacious storage for potash.
• Extensive Floor and Roof Area: The facility spans more than 15,000 square meters (165,000+ square feet) in floor area, with an expansive roof area of over 25,500 square meters (275,000+ square feet), providing ample room for storage and operations.
• Dual-Grade Product Storage: The design allows for the storage of both industrial-grade and fertilizer-grade potash, catering to different market demands and enhancing the facility's versatility.
• Safety and Efficiency: The project involved over 250,000 self-performed man hours with zero lost-time incidents, reflecting FWS Group’s commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and achieving operational excellence.

The Potash Bulk Storage & Distribution Facility was completed successfully, providing K+S Potash Canada with a high-capacity, flexible storage solution. The facility’s design accommodates significant volumes of potash, allowing for efficient storage and distribution operations. The project was completed safely, with a perfect safety record, and the infrastructure supports both industrial and fertilizer-grade products.
