Project Overview

FWS Group was commissioned to upgrade the raw crushing and conveyor system at a facility, focusing on enhancing infrastructure and optimizing material handling processes. This project involved extensive demolition work and the installation of new systems to support the efficient processing of raw materials.

The scope of work for the New Raw Crushing & Conveyor System project included the following key features:

  • Demolition and Removal of Existing Infrastructure: The project began with the dismantling and removal of the old coal conveying system and two concrete silos. This clearance was necessary to make way for the new, upgraded systems and ensure a smooth transition.
  • Mechanically Stabilized Wall (MSE Wall): A new MSE wall was constructed to provide support and stability for the surrounding structures. This wall was crucial for managing soil pressure and maintaining structural integrity in the area where the new systems were installed.
  • Foundations for New Equipment: New foundations were laid for the primary crusher and the updated coal conveying system. These foundations are designed to support the heavy equipment and ensure reliable operation of the crushing and conveying processes.
  • Approach Slab with Steel Wing Walls: An approach slab was installed for the mine truck dump area, complete with steel wing walls. This design facilitates efficient truck access and material dumping, optimizing the flow of raw materials into the processing system.
  • Piling Pile Caps and Mass Concrete Raft Foundations: The project also included the installation of piling pile caps and mass concrete raft foundations. These components provide a stable base for the new infrastructure and help distribute loads evenly to prevent settlement and ensure long-term stability.

This comprehensive upgrade has significantly improved the facility's capability to handle raw materials efficiently, enhancing the overall performance of the crushing and conveyor systems. The project highlights FWS Group’s expertise in managing complex infrastructure upgrades and delivering effective solutions for material processing.
