FWS Group undertook the development of the Inland Grain Terminal, a vital infrastructure project designed to enhance grain storage and handling capabilities. This facility was developed with a focus on expanding storage capacity and improving operational efficiency while ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.

The scope of work for the Inland Grain Terminal project included the following key features:

  • Concrete Silos: The terminal features six concrete silos with inner stice bins, providing a total storage capacity of 10,588 metric tonnes. These silos are designed to efficiently store large quantities of grain, ensuring optimal space utilization and protection.
  • Shipping Capacity: The facility boasts a shipping capacity of 1,360 metric tonnes per hour. This high capacity allows for rapid loading onto three track loadout systems, facilitating efficient dispatch of grain and supporting high-volume operations.
  • Grain Cleaning Line: A grain cleaning line was installed with a capacity of 90 metric tonnes per hour. This system is crucial for maintaining the quality of grain by removing impurities and ensuring that only clean, high-quality grain is processed and shipped.
  • Ongoing Operations During Construction: Throughout the construction phase, the terminal remained operational. It maintained a shipping and receiving capacity of 272 metric tonnes per hour and had a storage capacity of 15,000 metric tonnes. This allowed the facility to continue serving its operational needs without significant interruptions.

The Inland Grain Terminal project highlights FWS Group’s expertise in managing large-scale infrastructure developments while ensuring continuity of operations. The terminal’s advanced storage, handling, and cleaning systems significantly enhance its efficiency and capacity, supporting the growing demands of grain distribution and processing.
